So, this was the second garden workday so far. The goal for this workday was to finish staking out the areas for the plants, and to dig a few holes to see how difficult it was, and how long we thought it would take.
Low and behold, the first hole that was dug struck an unmarked water pipe! Apparently it was connected to the city main, and was unknown to the city and the garden folks. Thankfully it wasn’t a full-on geiser, just a decent size puddle. That put a very preamature end to the workday, as the rest of the time was spent waiting for the water folks to show up, and trying to figure out how to get the water off!
Thankfully it happened today, and not next Saturday when we’ll all be trying to get the newly arrived trees and plants in the ground!
