Autumn Workday– August 20, 2011
Autumn in South Florida means back to school and hurricane season, BUT more importantly for The Fruitful Field it means the start of a new planting season!
Help us get things moving so we can plant all kinds of great vegetables and herbs for an abundant fall and winter growing season.
We have lots to get done so we seriously need help from as many of you as possible!!!! Flashmobs welcome!
Our Workday Super tasks:
- Sweet Potato Harvest and Replant
- Early Planting- radishes, beans
- Community Plot- prep for the Fall
- Banana and Papaya Circles Remulch
- Plant Nursery work
So, bring along a bag or two of organic compost from Home Depot or Lowe’s and plan on joining us as we Grow, Gather and Give
When: Saturday August 20th from 9:00am to 12:00pm
Where: The Fruitful Field
Provided: Supervised Projects, snacks and light lunch, cold water, lemon grass tea and a feeling of accomplishment in the Garden
Bring: Work gloves, sun protector, a hat, closed-toe shoes, a digging implement
