Introducing Fruitful Flowers
The Fruitful Field is growing something new! Fruitful Flowers is our newest program, bringing fresh-cut, locally grown flowers from our farm in Deerfield Beach to our community. We grow our blooms with the same care we put into our food. They draw bees and butterflies that help our crops thrive, and they give neighbors one more reason to visit the farm and connect with where things grow. Come pick your own flowers during U-Pick days, take home a seasonal bouquet, or join one of our hands-on flower workshops. Every stem you take home helps support The Fruitful Field’s mission of growing healthy food, healthy communities, and a deeper connection to the land. Grown with love, right here in Broward County.
Johanna’s love of nature and growing things began in childhood, spending summers on her grandparents’ Pennsylvania farm harvesting fruits and vegetables, foraging for berries, and running a roadside stand with her cousins. That early connection to the land stayed with her in South Florida, where she has transformed her own backyard into a thriving food forest filled with tropical plants and flowers.
Inspired by Florida’s natural beauty, her love of growing food naturally blossomed into a passion for cultivating flowers. She began volunteering with The Fruitful Field and Fruitful Flowers, drawn by the organization’s commitment to community, education, and sustainable agriculture.
Now serving as Flower Farm Manager, Johanna finds peace, creativity, and purpose in nurturing flowers from seed to bloom. What she finds most rewarding is sharing that joy with others and inspiring a deeper connection to nature and the beauty of growing things.
