Hey Fruitful Fans! It’s the third Saturday and that means it’s our Volunteer Work Day from 9am to 12noon! Come on out and contribute a few hours in this gorgeous weather. Bring a hat & closed-toed shoes, we’ll provide lemongrass tea, snacks, a light

Cokesbury Fruitful Field Weekend Update

The plentiful rain has pumped up our turnips to the size of baseballs, broccoli is “heading up”, pepper transplants are budding flowers that will eventually develop into bell peppers, beets have sprouted, and our best row of carrots with diakon radish is in full gear! We inter-planted the diakons in gaps where the carrots did not germinate. Also, we managed to mulch a good stretch of one of our tomato rows which will help retain moisture, reduce watering, and generally improve soil conditions.

22lbs of produce from yesterday’s harvest headed to the food pantry at Cokesbury Umc from the Margate site of The Fruitful Field. Happy eating! Additionally, we have for sale arugala, mustards, collards, cilantro, parsley, broccoli raab, and Asian cabbage. Contact me for your needs. The proceeds of your purchase ensure an equal amount of produce can be donated to those in need.”

November At Cokesbury Fruitful Field

Weekend Update from our Cokesbury site: Weather cleared up nicely today after several days of rain. We were blessed to have Steve Smith and Van Hutchinson in the garden to lend a hand. What a difference it makes to have extra hands, and share conversation. You can see a beautiful ‘carpet’ of arugula coming in nicely, along with potatoes to the left. Tomorrow we will be donating that big bag of cabbage, mustards, beans, and broccoli raab to the food pantry at Cokesbury UMC along with a large box of Collards from the Parkway site.

Fresh Veggies grown here!

Farm Shares season in full swing and tasty Mustard Greens with mushrooms and onions to try out at pick up time. Urban farm to table!
